Occasional Care

The Neighborhood House child care is registered with the Department of Education & Early
Childhood Development – Provider No. 2548. We offer quality, flexible, unique child care.
Occasional Care is a unique child care service that supports families by providing flexible care for children aged 6 months to 5 years. Child care can be used for respite care; appointments; studying; shopping; socialisation for child and family as well as leisure pursuits. Come and visit our child care and talk to the staff about your child and their needs. Occasional child care operates to the Department of Education school term.

The Program

  • Each child’s personal development and cultural experiences are included into the educational program.
  • Age appropriate development activities are based on the child’s individual needs, interests and personal experience.
  • Indoor and outdoor playtime
  • Music and story time
  • Sleep room is available

Your First Visit

  • Bring your completed child care Registration Form with you.
  • Explain any special needs or instructions relating to your child to the staff.
  • Feel free to stay with your child a short time to assist with settling in.

What to Bring to Child Care

  • A named bag (named preferably on the outside of bag) for change of nappy & clothing
  • Children who do not have a hat and sunscreen will not be allowed to spend time outside on the High Risk days.
  • It is good practice to place an extra piece of fruit in your child’s bag.

Permanent and casual places for 3 and 5 hour sessions are available Monday to Friday.
Bookings can be made by telephone or in person at the office Fees are payable in advance.
When enrolling your child please bring along a copy of your child’s immunisation record.
If your child has an allergy – bring along the Action Plan signed off by your doctor.

9.15am – 12.15pm and 12.30pm – 3.30pm
(5 hour sessions available within these hours)

Tues / Thursday 9.15am – 12.15pm
(3 hour morning session only. Afternoon sessions will run if demand is there.)

Term 1: Mon, Jan 30 – Fri, March 31
Term 2: Tues, April 18 – Fri, June 30
Please note – No sessions: March 13 – Labour Day, April 17 – Easter Monday, April 25 – ANZAC Day, June 12 – Queen’s Birthday

CASUAL FEES: 3 HR; $30, 5HR, $50

PERMANENT FEES:
TERM 1
3 HOUR: Mon: $240 (8 wks), Tues, Weds, Thurs & Fri: $270 (9 wks)
5 HOUR: Mon: $400 (8 wks), Weds & Fri: $450 (9 wks)
TERM 2
3 HOUR: Mon: $270 (9wks), Tues: $300 (10 wks), Weds, Thurs & Fri: $330 (11wks)
5 HOUR: Mon: $450 (9wks), Weds & Fri $550 (11 wks)
